Enko Education (“Enko”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is a network of African international schools. We care about your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices and rights you have.

This policy applies to enkoeducation.com and the pages of our schools hosted on it (the “Website”). If you are a parent, learner or staff member of one of our schools, your school may also give you additional information about how it handles your personal information outside this Website.

1. Who we are

Enko Education is responsible for the personal information collected through this Website (the “data controller”). You can reach our central office at contact@enkoeducation.com for any question about this policy or about your personal information.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Contact and enquiry forms. When you ask us a question or request information, we collect the details you enter, such as your name, email address, phone number, country, the school or campus you are interested in, your role (for example parent, school owner, university or financial partner) and the content of your message. Our contact form is provided by Pipedrive.
• Careers and recruitment. If you apply for a role, register for job alerts or join our Teacher Recruitment Programme, we collect your name, contact details, professional background, qualifications, CV and any other information you choose to provide.
• Emails and other communications. If you write to us or to one of our campuses, we keep the content of your message and our reply.
• Whistleblowing reports. Reports are made through a separate secure portal operated for us by Personio and are handled confidentially under their own process.

Please do not include sensitive information, such as health details, in free text fields or messages unless we have specifically asked for it.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Website, we and our service providers automatically collect technical and usage information, such as your IP address, approximate location (country or city), device type, browser, operating system, language, the pages you view, the website you came from, how long you stay, and how you click, scroll and move through pages.

Information from advertising and campaigns

If you arrive on the Website from one of our online advertising campaigns, we may receive information about the campaign or advertisement that brought you here, so that we can measure whether our campaigns are effective.

3. How we use your information

We use personal information for the following purposes, relying on the legal basis shown where the law requires us to have one:

• To answer your enquiries and requests, including admissions, partnership, university and investor enquiries (our legitimate interests, and steps you ask us to take before entering into an agreement).
• To manage recruitment, assess applications and, where you agree, contact you about future opportunities (steps taken at your request, our legitimate interests, or your consent).
• To operate, secure and improve the Website, and to understand how visitors use it (our legitimate interests, or your consent where required).
• To measure and improve our communications and advertising (your consent where required, otherwise our legitimate interests).
• To send you information you asked for and, where the law allows and with your consent where required, news about Enko. You can unsubscribe at any time.
• To comply with legal obligations, protect our rights and prevent fraud or abuse.

Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of what we did before.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files placed on your device when you visit a website. We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

• Essential and functional. To make the Website work and to remember choices such as your language.
• Analytics and site experience. We use Hotjar to understand how visitors use the Website, through tools such as heatmaps and anonymised session recordings. This helps us fix problems and improve our pages.
• Tag management and advertising measurement. We use Google Tag Manager to manage the tools running on the Website. Depending on our current campaigns, these may include analytics and advertising measurement tools from Google and Meta, which may set their own cookies.
• Translation. We use Weglot to offer the Website in several languages. It may store your language preference and processes the page content in order to translate it.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, and through our cookie banner where one is shown. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the Website work. You can also opt out of Hotjar at hotjar.com/policies/do-not-track.

5. Who we share your information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed with:

• Service providers that process information on our behalf and under our instructions, including Webflow (website hosting), Pipedrive (contact forms and enquiry management), Hotjar (analytics), Google and Meta (tag management, analytics and advertising measurement, where used), Weglot (translation) and Personio (whistleblowing portal).
• Enko schools and central teams that need the information to respond to you, for example the campus you asked about.
• Professional advisers and authorities where required by law or to protect our rights.
• A successor organisation if Enko is involved in a restructuring, merger or sale, subject to the protections of this policy.

6. International transfers

Enko operates in many countries, and some of our service providers are located outside your country of residence. When personal information is transferred across borders, we take steps to make sure it remains protected in line with applicable law, for example through contractual safeguards with our providers.

7. How long we keep your information

We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including to meet legal, accounting or reporting requirements. For example, we keep enquiry details for as long as needed to handle your request and follow up, and recruitment details for as long as needed to assess your application and, where you agreed, to contact you about future opportunities. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.

8. How we protect your information

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, and we require our service providers to do the same. No method of transmission over the internet or of electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have the right to:

• access the personal information we hold about you;
• ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
• ask us to delete your information;
• ask us to restrict, or object to, certain uses of your information;
• receive your information in a portable format;
• withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it; and
• lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country.

10. Children’s privacy

This Website is intended for adults, including parents, guardians, school owners, partners, universities, alumni and job seekers. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through the Website. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Links to other websites

The Website contains links to third-party websites and services, such as social media platforms, our whistleblowing portal, universities and partners. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always published on this page with its date of last update. If we make significant changes, we will make that clear on the Website.
